MKMMA Week 14 — The Law of Relaxation
Well, I’m happy to say my self-directed Mental Diet was quite effective. The depressive feeling I often gloom in over a holiday time only lasted just a few hours. I successfully applied the Law of Substitution and chose different emotions and different actions for this holiday week. It’s been quite a pleasant and sociable week, and it’s not quite done yet.
What I have noticed, though, is that I’m borderline exhausted. It’s not just tired-exhausted, but it comes with an increase of physical signs that I interpret as adrenal exhaustion. So this gives me an interesting opportunity to step back and ask internally for wisdom and guidance on this.
I suspect at least part of what’s going on is that some of me feels quite stressed and threatened by transforming my old blueprint. Hey, it might not be ideal, but it sure seems safe in its familiarity. As I forge ahead into new territory, I think I need to leave plenty of time for rest and self-gentleness.
We have just finished studying Chapter Ten in “The Greatest Salesman”, on persistence. Much as I appreciate
the concepts in this book, I find the presentation extremely yang, very driving, with its bulls pierced with lances, the “slaughterhouse of failure”, and “one blow of my blade against a mighty oak”. I think this chapter has encouraged my tendency to persist myself right into exhaustion.
Over the weeks ahead I will be exploring how to achieve the transformations I seek through a balance of persistent, well-directed activity and surrender to the wisdom which guides me when I stop, apply the Law of Relaxation, recharge, and be quiet enough to hear the guidance I need and let the Universal Mind do the heavy lifting which it does so well!
